Amy Winehouse - Cherry - Lyrics
Cherry is a song from Amy Winehouses first album Frank. It's about a guitar she got and how much she loved it. She compares it to Chris, that she is quite mad at at the time (as always?). It's a cute, jazzy song, that Amy plays often at concerts.
Her name is Cherry, we just met
But already she knows me better than you
She understands me
After eighteen years
And you still don't see me
Like you ought to do
Maybe we could talk 'bout things
If you was made of wood and strings
While I love her every sound
I dunno how to tune you down
You're so thick and my patience thin
So I got me a new best friend
With a pickup that puts you to shame
And Cherry is her name
And when I'm lonely, Cherry's there
And she plays along while I sing out my blues
I could be crying and you don't care
You won't call me back
You're stubborn as a mule
Maybe we could talk 'bout things
If you was made of wood and strings
You might think I've gone too far
I'm talking 'bout my new guitar
Her name is Cherry, we just met
But already she knows me better than you
She understands me
After eighteen years
And you still don't see me
Like you ought to do
Maybe we could talk 'bout things
If you was made of wood and strings
While I love her every sound
I dunno how to tune you down
You're so thick and my patience thin
So I got me a new best friend
With a pickup that puts you to shame
And Cherry is her name
And when I'm lonely, Cherry's there
And she plays along while I sing out my blues
I could be crying and you don't care
You won't call me back
You're stubborn as a mule
Maybe we could talk 'bout things
If you was made of wood and strings
You might think I've gone too far
I'm talking 'bout my new guitar

Amy Winehouse - Wake up alone - Lyrics
Wake up Alone is a song about Amy's breakup with Blake, and how her life was. She stayed at the house, drank to much and cried a lot. This song is one of my favourites, and I think it's so beautiful live.
...
It's okay in the day I'm staying busy
Tied up enough so I don't have to wonder where is he
Got so sick of crying
So just lately
When I catch myself I do a 180
I stay up clean the house
At least I'm not drinking
Run around just so I don't have to think about thinking
That silent sense of content
That everyone gets
Just disappears soon as the sun sets
This face in my dreams seizes my guts
He floods me with dread
Soaked in soul
He swims in my eyes by the bed
Pour myself over him
Moon spilling in
And I wake up alone
If I was my heart
I'd rather be restless
The second I stop the sleep catches up and I'm breathless
This ache in my chest
As my day is done now
The dark covers me and I cannot run now
My blood running cold
I stand before him
It's all I can do to assure him
When he comes to me
I drip for him tonight
Drowning in me we bathe under blue light
His face in my dreams seizes my guts
He floods me with dread
Soaked in soul
He swims in my eyes by the bed
Pour myself over him
Moon spilling in
And I wake up alone
...
It's okay in the day I'm staying busy

Amy's going to Jamaica!
Amy really seems to love the caribbean. The record label has fixed a studio for her at Jamaica, so she will be packing her bags and leave St Lucia for another caribbean paradise. We think the new album wil have a lot of ska on it. Don't ya think?

God Blake, can you sink any lower?
Blake is contacting Amy's old boyfriends to secure that he gets the most money he can get from Amy.
Seriously dude. You're ruining your own reputation. Loooser.

Amy Winehouse - Back to Black - Lyrics
Back to black that gave Amy's second album it's name, was actually written by Marck Ronson. He played it for her, she totally loved it and wrote the lyrcis.
The song is about her and Blakes break up in 2006 and the hard time following it. Blake went back to his old girl friend while Amy got really depressed, started drinking very much and sitting around her apartment smoking weed. Amy says that this was the worst time of her life, but also very productive as almost all the songs on Back to Black was written at this time. The song Back to Black can be seen as a song that explains the rest of the Back to Black album.
A question that is often asked in forums are what "You love blow and I love puff" means. It's actually about their drug habbits. Blake loved blow, i.e. cocaine, and Amy loved puff, i.e. weed. Amy actually was strongly against hard drugs before marrying Blake.
Another sentence people is asking about, is "Life is like a pipe, and I'm a little penny rolling up against the walls". This is a reference to a crack pipe and a crack ball.
"We only said goodbye with words" is a very strong sentence that shows that they never stoped loving eachother, although they broke up.
--
He left no time to regret
Kept his dick wet
With his same old safe bet
Me and my head high
And my tears dry
Get on without my guy
You went back to what you knew
So far removed from all that we went through
And I tread a troubled track
My odds are stacked
I'll go back to black
We only said goodbye with words
I died a hundred times
You go back to her
And I go back to.....
I go back to us
I love you much
It's not enough
You love blow and I love puff
And life is like a pipe
And I'm a tiny penny rolling up the walls inside
We only said goodbye with words
I died a hundred times
You go back to her
And I go back to
We only said goodbye with words
I died a hundred times
You go back to her
And I go back to
Black, black, black, black, black, black, black,
I go back to
I go back to
We only said goodbye with words
I died a hundred times
You go back to her
And I go back to
We only said goodbye with words
I died a hundred times

Betty Boop tattoo
I've read several times that the first tattoo Amy got was a Betty Boop tattoo on the back when she was 15. Although I've never seen it. Anyone know the story? Did she cover it with another tattoo?
